Bachata II is designed for dancers who already know the basics of Bachata and would like to take their dancing to the next level. In this course, you will build on the fundamental steps and partnerwork while learning new combinations and techniques to add more confidence to your dancing.
A dance partner is not required to sign up.
Carla Jiménez Estévez is an Austrian/Dominican dance teacher. In 2019 she graduated from the Academy of Theatre and Dance. Carla has travelled around the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Senegal where she gained a lot of experience with Afro-Caribbean rhythms and local dance styles. She puts all this experience in her lessons of Salsa & Bachata.
Ahmed, born in Amsterdam, has a big love for dance since he was little. While doing his bachelor at the VU in 2022, he started the bachata I course of Carla and Ramiro at the Griffioen. Now, 4 years later, his love for Bachata and his own flavour kept growing. And he wants to transfer his experience to new dancers at the same place where he started his own Bachata journey.
Language of instruction: English, but Dutch speakers are more than welcome to join the course.
The courses take place on the sixth floor of the OZW building at the VU Campus (de Boelelaan 1109).
