Latin Mix

Have you always wanted to learn a Latin dance but didn’t know which one to start with? In this course, we’ll be going over the very basics of Salsa, Merengue, Bachata and Konpa so that, you will be prepped to have fun and dance at any Latin party. Carla and her dance partner(s) will cover: basic movements & steps, basic turns, music/genre recognition and the origin story of the specific dance styles. Occasionally, guest teachers who are experts in their style will join the classes.

A dance partner is not needed for signing up, but together is better! ;)

About the teacher

Carla Jiménez Estévez is an Austrian/Dominican dance teacher. In 2019 she graduated from the Academy of Theatre and Dance. Carla has travelled around the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Senegal where she gained a lot of experience with Afro-Caribbean rhythms and local dance styles. She puts all this experience in her dance lessons.

The courses take place on the sixth floor of the OZW building at the VU Campus (Boelelaan 1109).
